New Chief Executive appointed
Wiltshire Rural Housing Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Warran as its new Chief Executive.
Steve takes up his new role on 28th July. Steve has worked in housing for over 22 years and has held a variety of senior posts within the local authority and housing association sectors.
Richard Kitson, Chair of the Association, said: “The Board was pleased that there was strong interest in this key role and is delighted that Steve is going to lead WRHA. We believe that Steve has all the qualities necessary to lead the Association in developing our delivery of affordable homes for village communities in Wiltshire and Swindon Borough”.
Steve Warran said: “It is an honour and privilege to be chosen for this role. Housing need in rural areas is all too often hidden and ignored and yet it is vitally important for our villages to have a thriving community in order to secure their long term future. Wiltshire Rural has been a key player in providing housing in villages across the county for many years. I am looking forward to continuing this work and seeking new ways to support our rural communities to meet their housing needs.”
Steve has wide experience including time as Customer Services Manager at Ocean Housing and Head of Housing Services at both Penwith Housing Association in Cornwall and Exeter City Council. More recently Steve was the Head of Home Improvement for Aster Living and the Commercial Services Manager at Merlin Housing Society. Steve has always been passionate about the provision of good quality affordable housing and believes it is a basic right for everyone. He considers that the provision of excellent customer services and support for residents is important and underpins any housing association’s status as ‘social housing providers’.
Steve lives near Trowbridge, plays guitar in a local band and enjoys watching football and motor racing. He also enjoys visiting his favourite country – Italy.
