Wiltshire Rural Housing Association is highlighting rural housing week by carrying out a mass apple tree plant with residents.
Over 30 apple trees will be planted in their gardens by residents in villages across Wiltshire during the week. Residents have chosen either an eating or cooking apple variety of tree and the Association’s tenant gardening specialist has written a guidance leaflet explaining to other residents how to successfully plant the trees.
Parish members are invited to:-
Whiteparish on Thursday 27th September at 11am
Codford on Friday 28th September 2012 at 12pm to 12.30pm
Corsley on Friday 28th September 2012 at 2pm to 2.30pm
Parish members will have a chance to look around and talk to staff who will be delivering the trees. It will give members an insight into how Wiltshire Rural Housing Association schemes have matured since being built and how residents have settled in and are taking pride in their homes and gardens.
If any parish members would like to attend please respond to Dawn Bowker at Wiltshire Rural Housing Association asap on 01380 850916..
It is hoped that the mass apple tree plant by residents will raise the profile of rural housing developments across the county and will also be an opportunity to highlight the continuing need for such developments in rural areas in future.
